Dr Melody Ang

DR MELODY ANG XING YUEN

Dr Melody Ang graduated from Monash University Malaysia Campus with a degree in medical bioscience, a master’s degree in international business and PhD in organizational behaviors of healthcare professionals.

 

She has worked as a caregiving researcher in Malaysia, Japan and China. Her portfolios include advising care homes, corporations and governments in setting up care facilities. 

​

She is the Sec-Gen for Malaysian Association of Social Care Professionals and Homes and general manager of Swiftcare Training Sdn Bhd and My Place Convalescent Home Sdn Bhd, one of the largest elderly care homes in Malaysia.

​

She also serves in the capacity as Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Unit to Perak Housing and Local Government Committee Chairperson. 

​

She is the Industry Advisor for New Era University College (NEUC) Institute of Ageing and Professional Care and she is also the External Advisor for Sunway Business School Postgraduate Programs.

Mr Kok Fook Leong

Mr Kok graduated from Shinshu University in Japan and worked for 17 years in Tokyo before returning to Malaysia as director of Retirement and Recreation Management Sdn Bhd.

 

He has organized several government delegations to Fukuoka, Osaka, Tokyo and Hokkaido in 2017, 2018 and 2019 to promote cooperation in senior care industry between Japan and Malaysia.

 

He speaks fluent Japanese, English, Malay and Chinese.

 

He is managing director of LONG LIFE RETIREMENT & RECREATION SDN BHD

​

He also serves in the capacity as Head of the International Cooperation Unit to Perak Housing and Local Government Committee Chairperson.

Jeremy Leng

Jeremy Leng is a Monash University Graduate with a double major in marketing and finance. He held multiple leadership positions in non-profit organizations and was responsible in managing various departments to initiate and execute plans for organizational growth. 

​

Jeremy has 7 years of experience serving in the top financial institutions in both the local and foreign sphere. His accumulated skillsets ranges from sales, performance management, marketing communications, strategic planning and project management.

​

He now serves as the General Manager of Care Professional Alliance Resources overseeing the development of multiple business projects.

Mr Izawa Keiichi

Izawa is a Japanese who has migrated to Malaysia on Malaysia My 2nd Home scheme after working for 35 years in the social care and eldercare industry in Japan, as manager of Iwamizawa Ryokunikai Hospital, managing director of Rein Corporation which operates homes for eldercare, daycare and long term care, and managing director of Ashirtech Co Ltd which provides advisory services on long term care, social welfare and medical services.

Assoc Prof Dr Kazuhiro P. Izawa

Dr. Izawa worked in Rehabilitation Medicine for 20 years at St. Marianna University School of Medicine Hospital in Japan. He is currently working at Kobe University as an associate professor. He has also been teaching undergraduate and graduate students around Japan. He has conducted research on rehabilitation medicine for many years at his university hospitals. He is interested in the evaluation of and methods to improve sedentary behavior, physical function, physical activity, health-related quality of life, and cost effectiveness in patients with cardiopulmonary disease, stroke, diabetes mellitus, and chronic kidney disease. Dr. Izawa’s research is also focused on the evaluation and health promotion of apparently healthy Japanese people living overseas in Southeast Asia.

ASSOC PROF DR. KAZUHIRO P. IZAWA

Chua Yee Howe

Graduated from Multimedia University, Cyberjaya with a Bachelor of Information Technology (Hons) in Information Systems in 2003, Chua held the positions of the Head of System Integration department of Byte Craft Sdn Bhd, Director of System Integration and Software Development for M-Village (MSC) Sdn Bhd, and became directors in various healthcare, education, recreation and property businesses. ​

​

In senior care sector,  he started playing major role when he planned and organised some cross-border projects between industry leaders in Malaysia and Japan in 2019. ​

​

He then further contributed to the development of caregiving app, Japanese caregiver courses online and retirement properties in Malaysia. ​

​

He is currently a consultant of Long Life Retirement & Recreation Sdn Bhd and Malaysian Association for Social Care Professionals and Homes.​

Dr Abbas Ali

ABBAS ALI

Abbas Ali is an accomplished technology architect and visionary leader. With a BSc (Hons) from Oxford University, an MSc from The University of Chicago, and an MBA from Bradford University, Abbas has amassed an impressive portfolio of projects across Malaysia and beyond. 

​

He has made significant contributions to Smart Cities for the state of Sarawak, Port Klang Free Zone, and the KDN, helping to bring world-class, innovative and secure systems to these and many more high-profile projects. He has also been instrumental in helping cities like Malaca, Iskandar Puteri, Batu Pahat and Pasir Gudang to reach Smart City maturity levels.

​

His expertise in technology is a driving force behind his ability to deliver world-class, secure and user-friendly solutions, and his early career at PWC and the London City Hall gave him valuable experience that he has carried on to grow in many MNCs including Microsoft, Intel, Huawei and Dahua, to name the few. 

​

But his passion for making a difference goes beyond business success. Abbas has a very soft spot for the elderly and those in need of care, and he is dedicated to using his talents to improve their lives. Through charitable work and community involvement, Abbas is making a real difference in the world, one person at a time.

​

He is the current Head of Technology for the Malaysian Association for Social Care Professionals and Homes.​

DR MOHAMMAD ZULKARNAIN BIN BIDIN

Dr Mohammad Zulkarnain is an accomplished medical professional who has made significant contributions to the field of Clinical nephrology. He completed his undergraduate degree in medicine from University Kuala Lumpur, and subsequently earned his master's and PhD in Clinical Nephrology from Universiti Putra Malaysia.

 

In addition to his formal education, Dr Mohammad Zulkarnain has also undergone specialized training in Good Clinical Practices through Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia, as well as SKM modular training in Elderly Care Centre Operations. He has also received certification as a Japanese caregiving (KAIGO) trainer, further enhancing his skills in senior care. His areas of expertise include chronic and acute illnesses or treatments that affect the elderly, such as Endocrine disorders (Diabetes), Nephrology (Dialysis), Rheumatology in Elderly (Fracture in athritis and osteoporosis),Cardiology (Heart disease) and Infection (COVID-19).

 

He has secured several research grants from Universiti Putra Malaysia and the Malaysian Society of Nephrology, which have allowed him to delve deeper into these areas of interest. Furthermore, he is also involved in academic activities, co-supervising master's medical students in research. His significant contributions to the field of clinical nephrology have earned him a reputation as a highly skilled and knowledgeable medical professional.

Dr Hoe Zhi Yen

Dr. Hoe attained the title of Master of Clinical Dentistry through his  training at  King's College London. In addition, he is also an Associate Fellow of the College of General Dentistry (UK).

​

With a specialized focus on Dental Prosthodontics, Dr. Hoe focuses his practice in the restoration of compromised and aesthetically lacking dentition to achieve optimal function and beauty, particularly in the geriatric population.

DR HOE ZHI YEN

Dr Alpha Agape

Dr Alpha Agape is a senior lecturer and course director in the Mechatronics Engineering Discipline at Monash University Malaysia.

 

He has been successful in obtaining several external research grants to fund his research interests/area, from government agencies and industries.

​

His main research focus can be divided into three main areas of work in the area of wearable technology:

​

  1. Design and implementation of sensors that are minimally obtrusive and reliably record movement or physiological signals.

  2. Development of rehabilitation systems supports rehabilitation while unobtrusively gathering physiological/kinematic/kinetic data to support clinicians.

  3. Design and implementation of algorithms to extract clinically relevant information from recorded data.
